Minecraft Patches on PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360 and Xbox One Aiming to be in Certification at the Same Time

In an interesting move, Markus ‘Notch’ Persson, will be a guest on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson this coming this Thursday. With the release date of Minecraft on PS4 still slated for console launch, and the PS3 and PS Vita versions up in the air, I’m hoping he’ll talk about the release date for all PlayStation platforms, but we’ll have to wait and see.

As for developer 4J Studios, they’ll be missing out on Minecon this year because they’re “busy making Minecraft Editions for PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One.” When the timing of future updates for Minecraft on PlayStation/Xbox was brought up, they said:

We’ll be releasing updates in the future across Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PS Vita. The aim is to have updates submitted to [Certification] testing across all platforms at the same time. Might not happen that way though.

Back on October 30th, 4J received a visit from Sony, which meant they had to remove all Microsoft equipment. They then explained why this is:

Our agreements with Microsoft mean no-one can see our Xbox equipment. If Microsoft visits, we’d need to remove the Sony equipment.
