To make Call of Duty: Ghosts on PS4 look as good as possible at launch, Activision will be releasing a day one patch for the game, which bumps the single player up to native 1080p, whereas it would be 720p without that update.
This news comes from Activision, who explained the reasoning for this patch to Eurogamer:
Call of Duty: Ghosts runs natively at 1080p on the PlayStation 4.
There was a configuration issue in the retail version on single-player mode only. This has been addressed with a day one software update. People will be able to download the day one update when PlayStation 4 launches in their territory and play at native 1080p.
It remains to be seen if the day 1 patch includes the framerate fixes, so stay tuned for more info as it arrives.
