The PlayStation Plus offerings on PS4 are starting to become clearer by the day, with Resogun and Contrast being offered for free on day one, with Don’t Starve in January, Secret Ponchos in April, and DriveClub PS+ Edition, Outlast, and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth to follow in early 2014.
Because Housemarque can “see the effort” Sony is making to be a good option for smaller studios, Community Manager Tomasso De Benetti told VG247 that it was an easy decision to offer Resogun for free at launch:
After all, it means millions of players will be able to enjoy Resogun from the moment they purchase a PS4. We see it as an ‘instant install base.’
The support for Resogun won’t stop after the game launches though, with Housemarque having “long term plans to support the game with DLCs and updates, but at this point we cannot reveal anything specific. We are looking into a lot of options at the moment.”
