PS3 System Software Update 4.53 Now Available for Download, Check Out the Notes

The PlayStation 4 may be out, but Sony won’t be stopping with the PlayStation 3 system software updates as the optional 4.53 is now available to download for everyone.

SuperFastZombie, Online Support Co-ordinator for the EN PlayStation Community, tweeted about how 4.53 (US Download Link, UK Download Link) “improves system stability,” but the official PlayStation website has posted a few more notes for the update (some is just a repeat of 4.50):

 Main Features

  • You can now set the group of players who can see your trophies. You can also specify for each game whether to show trophies.

    • Download content items purchased with other devices
    • Download the latest system software
  • Support of Closed Captions function on playing Blu-ray Disc videos and DVDs (SCEA UC model only).

Other New or Revised Features

  • “PlayStationNetwork” has been renamed “PSN”.
  • System stability during use of PlayStation3 format software and network services has been improved.
