PS4 & PS3 Compatible Gold Wireless Stereo Headset Out This Month in North America & Europe

Accompanying the news of firmware update 1.60 going live for the PS4 later today/early tomorrow is the confirmation of the Gold Wireless Stereo Headset that was leaked last month.

Costing you $99/£79.99/€89.99 SRP and launching early February for North America/February 10th for Europe, the Gold Wireless Headset works on the PS4, PS3, PC, or Mac thanks to the USB wireless adaptor, with the 3.5mm stereo mini jack letting it work with the PS Vita or other mobile devices.

Here’s a rundown of some features you can expect with the Gold Wireless Headset:

  • 7.1 virtual surround sound
  • Custom audio modes via the new Headset Companion App
  • Hidden noise cancelling microphone
  • Rechargeable battery delivering 8 hours of straight gameplay
  • Portable, folding design and travel pouch
  • Customizable faceplates

Speaking of the Headset Companion App (also available through an update to the Pulse Manager app on PS3), it will be out later this month for free. Compatible with the Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 and the Pulse Wireless Stereo Headsets on PS4 and PS3, this app allows you to access custom sound modes for games, music, and movies, with the first PS4 sound mode for the app being inFamous: Second Son, with the game launching next month.
