A couple of weeks ago, Hideo Kojima was quite candid when talking about Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, revealing how he wants “Ground Zeroes played on PS4, though it’s available on current-gen.”
In the March 2014 issue of Game Informer (via Videogamer), the publication wrote, “Kojima notes that [Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes] looks slightly better on the PS4 compared to the Xbox One, something we also noted before he mentioned it,” backing up Kojima’s comment of wanting the game played on PS4. When contacted last week to confirm possible resolution and frame rate differences between the PS4 and Xbox One versions though, Konami was unable to do so, meaning that this is probably something we’ll see cleared up closer to launch.
Also as a result of the Game Informer issue, it was suggested that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain would be a PS4/Xbox One only title, but Konami cleared this up with Joystiq by saying, “MGSV TPP will be available on both current and next-gen!”
Switching gears to Kojima himself, and what seems to be something that happens after every game, he talked to Game Informer about passing the torch of the Metal Gear Solid franchise to someone else, but hasn’t had any luck so far. Kojima then added, “Ideally I would like to step out from the Metal Gear franchise as a producer and dedicate myself to other games. So far that has proven to be a bit difficult.”
He continued:
Within the games industry, I would like to make more games that have that indie game taste or some completely different type of game with a big budget – something in a completely different direction. If I wasn’t doing games, well of course I’d like to get involved in movies or write novels.
I’m almost 50 years old, so I don’t have that much time left. If I was to write a list of things that I want to do before I die, it would be a very stuffed list. Because of my age, I’m starting to think of the other things I have to do before I die.
