At a PlayStation Media Preview Event today (where Anthony Severino is in attendance!), SCEA’s John Koller held a State of the Business Address.
He gave out quite a few details about a variety of topics, including how the PlayStation Vita Slim/2000 will be released in the United States (and likely the rest of North America) this Spring for $199.99. When the PlayStation Vita Slim/2000 is released, it will be part of a Borderlands 2 bundle that also includes an 8GB memory card.
Elsewhere, Koller also confirmed that 1 in 3 PlayStation Vita owners own a PlayStation 4 as well, and over 250,000 people have used Remote Play between the PS Vita and PS4.
If further details are given about the PlayStation Vita Slim in North America, we’ll let you know.
Update: Polygon has reported that the PS Vita Slim bundle with Borderlands 2 and the 8GB memory card will cost $199.99. It also appears as though Borderlands 2 on Vita will work with your PS3 save files and include 6 of the previously released DLC packs. We’ll post more details about the PS Vita Slim and Borderlands 2 on Vita as they become available.
Update 2: John Koller went on the PS Blog to confirm that the PS Vita Slim is releasing this Spring in a bundle with Borderlands 2 and an 8GB memory card for $199.99, while also posting this video and these images:
For Borderlands 2, Koller detailed that you’ll be using the Vita’s front touchscreen and rear touchpad to “zoom and pan on maps, manage inventory, inspect items, and more.” The included co-op will allow you to play with up to three friends through Infrastructure online play, with Cross Saves between the PS3 version allowed as well.
Here are the 6 DLC packs that will be included inside Borderlands 2 on PS Vita, in addition to the main game:
- Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty
- Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage
- Psycho Character Class
- Mechromancer Character Class
