SCEA’s John Koller: “No Firm Plans” to do a PS4/PS Vita Bundle

When we’ve covered a potential PS4/PS Vita bundle from Sony, the majority of responses have come from PlayStation Europe employees, with the answer usually being that they’ve thought about it and aren’t doing it on their end, but certain retailer promotions have essentially done the job for them so far.

Getting some information about the chances of the PS4/PS Vita bundle in North America, GameSpot spoke with SCEA’s John Koller at the PlayStation Media Event yesterday, where Koller said, “We certainly would look at it. I think it’s an interesting proposition.” He then added that Sony has “no firm plans” right now to do the bundle.

Noting how the PlayStation Vita has sold “very well” since the PS4 launched back in November, Koller revealed that they’re seeing “movement of Vita with PS4 at that time of purchase” and he thinks they need to look at a potential bundle, adding:

I like the idea personally of being able to put them together if not as a bundle but as a marketed experience point. So Vita, we think, fits very, very well as a companion device for the PS4. But, I stop there because I want to make sure Vita retains the beauty of what makes Vita Vita. And that’s that it’s got it’s own unique kind of bespoke games.

With over 250,000 people using PS4/PS Vita Remote Play so far, and 1 in 3 PS Vita owners also owning a PS4, it will be interesting to see if Sony ever puts the PS4 and PS Vita together in the same box.
