In the latest official update for Until Dawn this past December, Supermassive Games MD Pete Samuels said, “Until Dawn is most definitely not cancelled and we are still developing it. Not only that, but we’re really excited about what we’re creating and can’t wait to tell more and show more sometime soon.” Despite saying all that, he wouldn’t say whether it’s still being made for the PS3, or if development has shifted to the PlayStation 4.
Well, with Project Morpheus announced for the PS4, Polygon is reporting that, according to their sources, Until Dawn has moved from the PS3 to the PS4, with Project Morpheus support included as well.
At GDC 2014, Polygon spoke with Shuhei Yoshida about Until Dawn, where he confirmed that the game is still in development, but a Sony rep stopped him from saying anything about which platforms it would be on. However, Shuhei was able to answer the question of whether Until Dawn was now a Project Morpheus title:
That would be very interesting, because it’s a horror game, and the people are tweeting to me, ‘I want to play Outlast in Morpheus.’ I think that’s, in terms of genre, that’s a really good fit. If you really want to make serious games for Morpheus, the game design would be really, really different.
If the report is true, do you think Until Dawn would be a good fit for Project Morpheus? Let us know in the comments below.
