We’ve known about the PlayStation Vita ports of Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie from Four Door Lemon for some time now, and today they’ve pulled back the curtain on many of the details for each release.
First off, both Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2 run at 60fps, they’re pushing 400,000 polys/frame, and Hello Games’ Alex Wiltshire says, “It totally looks just as good as the PS3 version.” In addition to all that, Joe Danger 2 will feature three new characters: Atoi and Iota from Tearaway and Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet.
Here’s a rundown of what else to expect from each game:
Joe Danger
- 84 levels, including the Director’s Cut and Laboratory stages
- 25 playable characters
- Automatically download ghosts to race against
- Online leaderboards
- Trophies
Joe Danger 2: The Movie
- 85 levels, including 15 from the Undead Movie Pack released as DLC on PS3
- 35 playable characters
- Automatically download ghosts to race against
- Online leaderboards
- Trophies
As for the controls in the two Joe Danger games, touch controls have been implemented for the menus and Editor mode. When you’re actually playing, the only differences are that Circle now tricks as well as punches, while Triangle is a second trick button.
You’ll be hearing about a release date, and a price, for Joe Danger on PS Vita very soon, with the first game “nearly finished.” Unfortunately, “Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2 on Vita aren’t Cross-Buy. They’re actually a little different to the original JD1 and JD2 on PS3, with more levels and characters (like Sackboy, Atoi and Iota), plus a few other bits and pieces to enjoy.”
