Killzone: Mercenary Getting Offline Botzone Starting Today, Costs Money

Following a delay, Guerrilla Games has confirmed that Offline Botzone will be available for Killzone: Mercenary today in North America and tomorrow in Europe when the PlayStation Store updates.

By purchasing the Botzone Soldier Training Pack (€2.49 in Europe, probably $2.49 in North America), you’ll get access to offline multiplayer on the 8 in-game maps. You can then play in Mercenary or Guerrilla Warfare modes against up to 7 AI soldiers (who will use different loadouts and unique behaviors), with you as the host having control over the number of teammates and enemies in the match.

As an added bonus, you’ll be able to “collect some of those harder-to-obtain multiplayer trophies in an offline arena.” This means you don’t have to worry about finding an online match to finally get those last few multiplayer trophies for your Platinum.

Also starting today, a new 23MB (or 549MB if you’ve never downloaded a previous update) patch for Mercenary goes live and fixes some multiplayer collision issues.

For those of you in Europe, Killzone: Mercenary is currently on sale for £14.99/€19.99/AU$24.95, with PS+ members getting an additional 10% off.

Will you be buying the Offline Botzone pack this week? Let us know in the comments below.
