Welcome to PlayStation LifeStyle’s trophy guide for Octodad: Dadliest Catch! This game about a totally normal husband and father comes with 20 trophies to earn. They are all very easy to earn and can be collected in one play-through. If you do happen to miss any, they can be earned by restarting a checkpoint or via chapter select. Chapter select is under “Free Play” in the main menu. Only two trophies are story related and the rest are all tied to completing very random tasks through out the game.
Spoiler Alert: Unfortunately, there are spoilers in this guide. If you are trying to avoid spoilers, it’s recommended that you complete the game before reading any further.
Trickshot-gun Wedding – Bronze
– Throw the ring onto Scarlet’s finger from a distance.
This is earned during the chapter “Wedding Bells”. Pick up the ring from the box to right of the altar. Stand to the right of Scarlet and throw the ring at her finger. Push the L3 forward and press R1 to throw the ring, this will undoubtedly take a few tries. If you throw the ring and miss, it will respawn back in the box after a few seconds. The Best Man – Bronze
– Get married with the best man on the altar.
The best man is the fish on the right side of the room with the bride. Pick up the fish and set him him on the altar. When he’s up on the altar put the ring on Scarlet’s finger. If you take too long the fish will flop off of the altar and you will have to set him back up on it.
Trim Your Moustache – Bronze
– Get sucked into the riding mower.
This is earned just after you’ve completed all of the tasks in the backyard during “Home, Sweet Home.”. Just like the wedding ring, you will need to throw the bird house onto the hook. For a video guide, follow the link below!

The Secret Gardener – Bronze
– Orange no-thumbs are the new green thumbs.
This can be earned while in the backyard during “Home, Sweet Home”. You’ll need to pull all 6 of the weeds out of the garden without stepping on any flowers. the first 4 can be pulled by standing near the edge of the garden. The other 2 can only be reached by following the path into the garden. This is where it gets tricky, use the path up at the top of the garden. You’ll need to quickly alternate pressing L2 and R2 to walk down the path slowly without stepping on any flowers. If you do happen to step on them press options and reload the checkpoint to retry. Smokey the Dad – Bronze
– Only you can prevent kitchen fires.
Just before going out to the backyard during “Home, Sweet Home”, go to the fireplace in the kitchen. Take out the burning log and drop it into the sink.
Secret Shopper – Bronze
– Get the Sports Johnson cereal before the lady puts it in her cart.
This trophy is earned during the chapter “Gervason’s Grocery”. If you step foot (tentacle) down the center aisle you’ll trigger a cutscene of the lady grabbing the cereal. You’ll need to go down the left aisle with the frozen food, then climb over the the shelf to reach the cereal.
Person-al Shopper – Bronze
– Help all of the shoppers fill their carts.
All ya need to do is put something in everyone’s carts in the grocery store. It just has to be 1 thing and make sure you put something small into the lady’s cart that already has stuff in it.
Oh Captain, My Captain – Bronze
– Visit with several of your own crewmen while dressed as the captain.
This is earned during the “Sea Legs” chapter. You’ll have to mop the deck and raise the anchor before you can get the captains uniform. Once you have it on, go back to the area that you mopped and have everyone speak to you. You’ll also need to cross the beam overhead to get to the crewman you stole the coffee from.

Band of Blubbers – Bronze
– Rescue five of your brethren from an awful fate.
This can be earned at the very beginning of the”Sea Legs” chapter. Pick up and throw 5 fish over board. If the trophy doesn’t pop, restart the checkpoint and try again.
Head Otter – Bronze
– Wear the sea otter head.
This is earned in the “World of Kelp” section of the Aquarium. After several mini-games you’ll come to a big otter. You need to slide the otter over to block kelp. After this game, grab the otters head and put it on yours.
Dunk Tank – Bronze
– Come on and slam and welcome to the Amazon.
This can be earned in the “Amazon Arcade” section of the Aquarium. You’ll need to give Scarlet 7 prizes by winning the games first. After that, the glass tank will crack and spring a leak. Go grab a basketball and use it to plug the leak. It’ll be the leak that starts to fill up the room with water.
Stay True to Yourself – Bronze
– Sneak to the cafeteria without the use of a disguise.
This trophy can be earned during the chapter “Silent but Deadly”. It starts in the giftshop and ends when you reach the cafeteria. The easiest way to earn this is to switch the game to “Easy” difficulty. On “Easy” you can just walk by everyone and they won’t see you. Just make sure to not put anything put anything on.
Poor Workplace Etiquette – Bronze
– Go the extra mile in running the break room (and Joe’s reputation).
While in the break room, you’ll have to set off the fire alarm with at least 1 item. To earn this trophy, you’ll need to set the alarm off with all 3 items. The stove, the microwave and the counter top grill.

Dancing in the Dark – Bronze
– Complete the Deep Sea dance challenge without missing a step.
This is earned at the beginning of the “The Deep Sea” section of the Aquarium. You’ll need to touch every square that lights up. Each square will have a timer, so you have a few seconds to get across the dance floor. If you miss a square, restart the checkpoint to try again. The order of the squares that light up will be the same every time to retry.

Secrets of the Deep – Bronze
– Reveal the pride of the aquarium’s jellyfish collection.
This will take place right after the dance floor in ‘The Deep Sea” section. When you are given the the lantern, follow the hallway until you come to an employee. Before you sneak by the employee, go to the left and you’ll find the jellyfish collection. Shine the lantern on it to unlock the trophy.

Stairs with Attitude – Bronze
– Climb the escalators in less than 30 seconds.
This trophy is earned at the end of “The Deep Sea” section of the Aquarium. This will also take a few tries to earn. You’ll need to climb two escalators that are going the opposite way and hit both buttons at the top of each escalator. You’ll have to take big long steps quickly. If you wait too long, you’ll be sent to the bottom. Try to work on getting a pattern going on your steps. If you fail, restart the checkpoint in the options menu to try again.

No Cutsies – Bronze
– We have rules for a reason.
This can be earned at the very beginning of the Aquarium. When Scarlet gives you the ticket you’ll have to wait in line without knocking over the ropes or stepping in front of someone. The game is a little weird here, as you can bump into the rope and still be okay. You’ll know you’ll have to start over if someone in line complains and says something to you. If you bump into something and noone says anything, you’re still okay.
Independent Woman – Bronze
– Scarlet plugs the cafeteria fountain spouts without your help.
This is earned during the final mission of the game. When you get to the end of the boss battle with the chef, Scarlet will throw you fish heads that you’re supposed to plug the fountains with. Instead, stand just behind each one. Scarlet will throw them and they will land on the fountains without you touching them.
Au Naturel – Bronze
– Nothing left to hide.
This trophy is story related.
World’s Best Dad – Bronze
– Beat the game.
This trophy is story related.
