Dark Souls 2 Ships 1.2 Million Copies in Less Than One Month

As part of Bandia Namco’s financial reporting today, the company showed that Dark Souls 2 managed to ship 1.2 million copies in North America and Europe between launch on March 11th and the end of the fiscal year on March 31st. Since the PC version wasn’t out in time, the figure only covers the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

Comparing Dark Souls 2 to Dark Souls, the original had shipped 1.5 million copies as of November 2011 (about a month after launch) and was just shy of 2.4 million copies around May 2013.

Bandai Namco also gave out sales figures for some of their other games, with none of them coming eclipsing the total of Dark Souls 2:

  • God Eater 2 (PS Vita) – 700,000 (Japan)
  • Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360) – 620,000 (Japan, North America, Europe)
