During a recent PlanetSide 2 Twitch stream, Creative Director Matt Higby talked about the PlayStation 4 version of the game (7:30 – 11:20), which he confirmed was running at a “smooth framerate” and “1080[p]” during their latest PS4 demo for Sony.
After saying how they’re “very happy with the progress that’s being made” on PlanetSide 2 for PS4, Higby revealed that the team is focusing on optimizing the client and getting the UI working properly so they “have a good console-friendly user interface.”
When asked about a release date, Higby didn’t address it head-on and only said, “We will be at E3” with the PS4 version of PlanetSide 2. While that will mostly be a media event, the game will also be playable at MLG the week after E3.
Right now, everyone on the design team has a PS4 dev kit and PS4 playtests of PlanetSide 2 are occurring fairly regularly.
Do you think PlanetSide 2, which was originally supposed to be a PS4 launch title, will release before or after DriveClub? Let us know your guesses in the comments below.
