  • With E3 in just a few weeks, Take-Two has trademarked Agent (again) and City Stories. We know what Agent is, but City Stories could point to a new game. We’ll just have to wait and see if Take-Two does anything next month. [Via 1, 2, Source 1, 2]
  • The NPD has given their report on the first quarter of 2014’s sales in the video game industry (includes hardware, accessory, new and used physical software, game rentals, subscriptions, digital full game and add-on sales, as well as mobile and social network revenues), revealing that total spending was down 1% to $4.6 billion. For a breakdown, new hardware was up 47% to $983 million, physical software was down 27% to just over $1 billion, digital revenue was up 4%, and accessories dropped 11% to $446 million. [Source]
  • Thanks to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, GameStop’s Q1 financials (ending May 3rd, 2014) revealed that global sales were up 7% to $2 billion, with net income up 24.5% to $68 million. The retailer said, “From launch through April, total market sales in the U.S. of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One hardware have more than doubled the combined sales of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 hardware through their first six months of sales.” [Source]
  • Gary Whitta (The Walking Dead) has signed on to write the screenplay for the upcoming Star Wars standalone movie, scheduled to release on December 16th, 2016. [Source]

  • The VC-30 ‘Sickle’ shotgun in Killzone: Shadow Fall has been re-buffed thanks to a new server update. [Source]
