Primal Carnage: Genesis for PS4 Has Taken “A Bit of a Back Seat”

All the way back in March 2013, Lukewarm Media announced that Primal Carnage: Genesis – Episode 1 would be coming to the PlayStation 4, with the developers “definitely aiming to [make it] a launch title.” Clearly Primal Carnage never made it for PS4 launch, and as Founder Aaron Pollack told Push Square recently, they aren’t working on it right now:

Primal Carnage: Genesis isn’t out of the picture entirely, but it has taken a bit of a back seat to the work that our team’s been doing to greatly improve the existing game.

What they are talking about with the “existing game” is the PC version, which is set to receive a patch soon. Once the patch is completed, Pollack did say there may be more news about the PS4 version, though it’s worth noting that the game is no longer listed on their website.

As well, back in mid-2013, Ashton Andersen, another Founder of Lukewarm Media, left the company “to start a new studio and project due to bad partnership.” When Andersen was asked if he owns the rights to Primal Carnage: Genesis, he said, “Sadly I do but I don’t; it’s a complicated situation. But the people there now are not the original team members.” Based on that, getting work done on Genesis could be tricky.

If there are any further developments about Primal Carnage: Genesis on PS4, we’ll let you know.
