Japanese Sales Chart: PSP Gets a Boost, Outsells PS3

Suffering a big drop in the Japanese sales chart in its second week on the market, Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U was bumped to second place by Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth on 3DS, which finished in first by moving 186,000 copies. A little further down in the chart, Wolfenstein: The New Order didn’t get off to a very good start, selling only 7,448 copies on PS4 and 4,341 on PS3. In fact, the retail version of Rain on PS3 outsold Wolfenstein on PS3!

On hardware, the Wii U dropped by nearly 6,000 units to 13,766, but it was still enough to outsell the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Portable (which saw a big surge!), and the PlayStation 3. As with most weeks, the 3DS was number one overall.
