Uncharted 4 Might be the Last Chapter in the Franchise, Claims Nathan Drake Actor

While Uncharted fans might be salivating at the thought of playing Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End next year, Nathan Drake’s debut PlayStation 4 game might also be his last one.

In a chat with IGN, actor Nolan North who voices and does the motion capture work for Nathan Drake, explained that as far as he knows, this is the last Uncharted game coming out of Naughty Dog, and adds that he hopes no one continues the franchise without the studio.

It’s bittersweet but at a certain point you want to go out on top…If this is the last one indeed, and I believe it’s the last one – nothing’s confirmed, but I believe it’s the last one Naughty Dog wants to do, in which case I hope somebody else doesn’t pick up the mantle because they’ve done it so well for so long – but yeah, it’s one of those things where you just have to cross that bridge when you get to it.

Could this really be Nathan Drake’s swan song? As a huge fan of the franchise, I certainly hope not. As long as Naughty Dog wants to continue making Uncharted games and the quality’s there, I don’t see why new entries should stop.

Would you be okay if “A Thief’s End” is the last Uncharted game? Would the franchise work with a new protagonist or should Naughty Dog stop while its ahead?
