The Catch-Up: June 27, 2014 – PlayStation Now Beta Extends to Select Sony TVs on June 30

With PSLS able to cover more news than ever before beginning in July, this will be the final Catch-Up for the foreseeable future (don’t be sad!).

News

  • Come June 30, the PlayStation Now beta will extend to select Sony TV models, including all of their 4K TVs, along with some 1080p HD TVs. There will be PS3 games available at the start of the beta, and all you need to play is a DualShock 3 and some money, as prices will vary from title to title. [Via, Source]
  • Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star on PlayStation 3 (they’re working on getting the Vita version) has been confirmed for release in North America and Europe. While there’s no date in North America, Europe will be getting it physically and digitally on September 26, complete with Japanese and EU voices. [Twitter 1, 2, 3, 4]
  • DC Universe Online is getting Game Update 38 early next week, which adds Survival Mode, Classic Batman, and more. [Source]
  • Apparently, the Dragon’s Teeth expansion for Battlefield 4 is “just around the corner.” [Twitter]
  • Tecmo Koei Europe is now known as Koei Tecmo Europe. [Source]
  • Telltale Games’ Kevin Bruner said, “Two things confirmed today. 1 – The ending for Wolf is indeed amazing. 2 – We are a bat shit crazy, out of our minds insane game company.” [Twitter]
  • Terraria PS3’s patch 1.07 is a small one, only fixing disappearing worlds/characters. There was no new content added. [Twitter]
  • In July, Sound Shapes will be getting a “unique DLC pack” that’s “a little collaboration with friends.” Any guesses as to what it might be? [Twitter]
  • Persona 4 the Golden Animation, an anime based on the PlayStation Vita game Persona 4 Golden, will be up for streaming in the US beginning on July 10 through Aniplex ChannelCrunchy Roll, Daisuki or Hulu. [Via, Source]
  • In case you didn’t know, you’re able to request songs to be added to Rocksmith. As part of an interesting infographic, Ubisoft revealed that it takes between three months and a year for an approved song to make its way into the game, while most requested songs don’t make it because the original audio track is unavailable.   • Redacted Studios is working on Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of the Bear, the sequel to the previous Afro Samurai game starring Samuel L. Jackson. There’s no release date right now, but it’s confirmed for “next-gen consoles and PC.” [Press Release]
