I have a feeling there will be a new #1 once this week’s numbers are reported next Monday, but when it comes to last week, Watch Dogs ruled the UK sales chart once again, marking its territory at the top spot for a sixth time. The game rose 3% compared to the previous week, and if it does manage another 1st place finish at some point this year, it will tie FIFA 14 for most weeks at #1 in 2014.
With no new releases in the top 40 and a heatwave crossing through the UK, the market dropped 3% overall in terms of units and revenue compared to last week, meaning it’s the second lowest week in 2014 so far when it comes to unit sales, and the lowest for revenue.
Here’s the top 20 selling games in the UK for the week ending July 26, 2014, according to GfK Chart-track:
- Watch Dogs (up 3%)
- FIFA 14 (up 5%)
- Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (up 4%)
- Sniper Elite 3 (down 6%)
- The LEGO Movie Videogame (up 41%)
- Minecraft: PS3 Edition (down 3%)
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Titanfall
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Battlefield 4
- Tomodachi Life

- Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
- LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
- Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare

Do you think there’s any chance The Last of Us Remastered won’t be #1 in the UK when it launches later this week?
