Persona 5 developer and publisher, Atlus, has said that it’ll be taking a step towards developing video games for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon. In an interview with the Japanese weekly magazine, Famitsu, President and CEO Yukio Sugino stated that as sales of the new consoles continue to rise, it is becoming difficult to ignore them.
There’s also some good news for fans who were worried about Atlus opting for mobile game development like many other Japanese studios. Sugino-san has said that the company will remain committed to consoles as it owes its popularity to them, and that there will be no change in policies. Phew! For now, though, Persona 5 is the main focus.
Earlier this year, Atlus USA confirmed that Persona 5 and Persona 4: Dancing All Night will be coming to North America in 2015, while Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is set for release in Fall 2014.
