In the September issue of Game Informer, it has been revealed that Assassin’s Creed: Rogue for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will not feature a multiplayer mode. The single-player only title will be the first in the series to not have a multiplayer mode since Assassin’s Creed II.
Ubisoft hasn’t given an explanation for this, but it seems that the developer isn’t keen on including the traditional multiplayer mode in any of the upcoming titles. Current-gen title, Assassin’s Creed: Unity won’t have competitive multiplayer, and instead, will only focus on four-player co-op. The reason given for this was development of core mechanics focusing on cooperation rather than confrontation.
Assassin’s Creed: Rogue was officially unveiled yesterday, although the game had already been outed before.
Is anyone concerned by lack of a multiplayer mode? Personally, I feel that it should have been left out of the series a long time ago.
