Remember that trademark filing for The Hungry Horde that was discovered not even a month ago? Well, all speculation on the filing can be put to rest, as Sony has officially unveiled newly-minted developer Nosebleed Interactive’s debut title, and it’s coming to the PlayStation Vita.
The Hungry Horde is a top-down shooter at first glance. The premise is as follows:
You start the game off controlling a couple of wayward zombies. Every time you bite a human they join your ever-increasing horde, until you’re controlling whole streets full of the undead. Unfortunately, rampaging through the streets eating brains is always going to grab someone’s attention, and sensing the danger to the population the government has decided to do the only sensible thing they can: quarantine the area and nuke you. So it’s a race against the clock to gather a big enough horde to smash down any human defenses and take on armed guards, tanks and any other opposition that gets between you and those tasty brains.
The game is also apparently chock-full of mini-games, including one that is played on an in-game arcade cabinet. You play as a zombie playing a human that is killing zombies. That sounds pretty meta for a zombie game! Take a look at the screens and a debut trailer below.
