Although surveys need to be taken with a grain of salt, they bring about some interesting findings nonetheless. An Independent Game Developers Association survey asked over 2,200 developers to pick a company that they’d like to work for, and results show that Valve came out on top. Interestingly, the second spot was claimed by “my own company,” indicating that a significant amount of developers would like to set up their own business.
The top ten companies in light of the findings are:
- Valve
- My own company
- Activision Blizzard
- BioWare
- Ubisoft
- Current employer
- Nintendo
- Naughty Dog
- Double Fine
- Bethesda Game Studios
Quite a few notable companies seem to be absent from this list, but the other interesting one to note is number 6!
