335,000 People From 88 Countries Attended gamescom 2014

An impressive 335,000 people showed up at gamescom 2014 in Germany representing 88 countries from around the world, according to official statistics. Although this figure is lower than last year’s attendance of 340,000, it’s still noteworthy. According to the organizers, there were over 700 exhibitors from 47 countries, and 31,500 trade visitors – a figure that’s up by 6% from last year. Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH said:

The gamescom is the most important platform for the European computer and video games industry. The increase on the exhibitor side, both in terms of the absolute number as well as the international, underscores that clear. As organiser of the fair, we are pleased that the gamescom is set as a firm date in the industry. For the location Cologne the gamescom is also of great importance, because the computer and video games industry is an industry of the future, which provides a boost for the fair site Cologne.

gamescom 2014’s big winner was Turtle Rock Studios as it walked away with five awards for its upcoming title Evolve. You can check out the full list of winners here
