Bungie: Until You’ve Kicked Every Single Ass That Plays Destiny, You Haven’t “Finished” It

Just how much content is there in Destiny? While we can’t answer that specifically until we’ve played the game, don’t expect to “finish” it anytime soon — at least according to Bungie Community Manager David “Deej” Dague.

In a recent Best Buy Google Hangout, Deej was asked how many hours of gameplay should we expect from Destiny, and while he doesn’t give a specific estimate, he does let on that he doesn’t expect people to “finish” the game anytime soon.

We saw people invest dozens of hours into the beta alone, and that was one destination…These destinations are stitched together with our new tech so that there are so many different locations to visit. Expansive outdoor locations where you can just enjoy your personal vehicle; there are indoor dungeon-type spaces where you can really pick through the bones of our shattered civilization.

Deej also mentions Destiny’s PvP (player vs. player) mode, the Crucible, which, due to its competitive online nature, can’t really be “finished.”

And as we said before, [there are] endless amount of hours of fun in the Crucible…Until you’ve kicked every single ass that plays this game, you haven’t finished. And once you have, someone else just bought their first copy. So, fresh meat, Christmas noobs.

Given Bungie’s statement that its future is “all about Destiny,” I don’t expect it to be a short game. And since DLC is already mapped out, there should be more than enough content even when gamers are tired of what the vanilla game has to offer.

How much time do you think you’ll pour into Destiny? Will you even play the Crucible at all?
