At Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia’s press conference in Tokyo, SCEJA president Atsushi Morita revealed that “the Vita is very popular among women.” He said that because of this, SCEJA is aiming to strengthen its position with this demographic. With women in mind, said Morita, Sony will release a “Light Pink/White” model of the PlayStation Vita. As with all new Vita models, this will be the slim 2000 model with its lighter weight, built-in memory, and LCD screen.
Morita added, “We hope to recommend this to women. You can arrange it with your accessories and customize your life.”
The new version of the system will go on sale Nov. 13 in Japan at the same recommended price as other Vita models, 18,980 yen (about $190 USD, before tax).
As of this writing, the conference is still going on. Tune in right here.
