While the most recent Dragon Age: Inquisition info to come out of BioWare is the confirmation of a multiplayer mode, we now know a bit more about one of the single-player portion’s important aspects; namely the level cap.
In an interview with GamingBolt, Dragon Age: Inquisition Creative Director Mike Laidlaw was asked what the max level cap is in Inquisition, and apparently, there’s none — at least not in the traditional sense.
They key is to not have a cap. When you arbitrary just stop getting experience, it honestly kind of sucks in my opinion. The way experience is granted in Inquistion is as you tackle monsters and going after things and as they get too low level for you they stop granting you experience. This is a fairly standard RPG mechanic and by the time you’re capped out and no longer gaining experience, you’ve killed some of the toughest stuff in the world.
You’re probably done with the game because you’ve killed almost everything, so that’s kind of our approach. It’s more of a soft-cap and there will be a point at which you stop leveling up somewhere.
In other Dragon Age: Inquisition news, BioWare confirmed that there won’t be any item trading in multiplayer, and more importantly, it won’t affect anyone’s single-player campaign.
