Next up for the Kingdom Hearts franchise, we have Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix coming to the PlayStation 3 in December, which includes HD versions of Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, and remastered cinematics from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.
At this point, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is left without an HD version, and last we heard, Square Enix wasn’t sure it would even get one. In a new interview with Famitsu, however, Game Director Tetsuya Nomura said he doesn’t want Kingdom Hearts 3D to be the only game without an HD version, and that an HD version is under consideration.
Switching to Kingdom Hearts 3, development is said to be progressing smoothly and according to plan, with Nomura revealing that Square Enix wants the wait between 2.5 HD Remix and KH3 to be cut down as much as possible.
Aside from Kingdom Hearts 3, Nomura says Square Enix has various projects in the works for the franchise, and at this point, it’s just a matter of going through the various offers they’ve received, likely from other developers.
Would you buy an HD version of Kingdom Hearts 3D if it come to PlayStation?
