PlayStation Vita Firmware Update 3.30 Out Today, Adds Theme Support & More

Update:

Firmware update 3.30 is available now, with the full details posted over here.

Original Story:

While we still don’t know exactly when PlayStation 4 firmware update 2.00 is releasing this fall, Sony has announced that PlayStation Vita firmware update 3.30 will be going live later tonight, adding theme support and more.

When it comes to those themes, you’ll be able to download them tomorrow, allowing you to personalize your Vita’s Start and Home screens, system application icons, and the system’s background music. You’ll then be able to manage your themes through the Vita’s system settings.

It will be a small launch for themes on Vita though, with non-game themes like Crystal, Four Seasons, Stitching, and more available to purchase from the PlayStation Store. Gaming-related themes like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Tearaway, and Freedom Wars will be available “soon.”

Themes aren’t the only thing coming in 3.30, as the new update will allow you to see trophy rarity on Vita, while also adding the ability to send event files from your Calendar to your friends.

Sony explained the new Calendar feature:

If you’re a fan of setting up events with your friends via the Calendar app on PS Vita, you can now send event files from your Calendar to your friends using Messages or Email so they can easily add them to their own Calendar. This update will also allow you to add players not in your Friends list to your events.

If you see update 3.30 up for download on your Vita, feel free to let people know in the comments below.
