Square Enix Files Lawsuit Against SNK Playmore in Effort to Defend Itself

SNK Playmore filed a lawsuit against Square Enix back in August, claiming that Square Enix used SNK characters without the company’s permission. Now, Square Enix has filed a lawsuit against SNK Playmore in an effort to defend itself against the company.

In an official statement sent out by Square Enix, the company explains that it did not infringe on any of SNK’s copyrights, and is filing this current lawsuit in an attempt to clear its name.

Getting accused of the criminal complaint, the Company has decided to bring the said lawsuit to seek a declaratory judgment that the Company does not infringe the Defendant’s copyright.  The Company will prove the point through civil procedures.

What do you think of this whole mess? Do you think Square Enix is justified in filing a lawsuit against SNK Playmore, and vice-versa?
