Many franchises are turned into games, but there are inevitably a few franchises that have not seen proper video game releases yet. This week we asked the PSLS staff what franchises that don’t already have video game adaptations they would want to see, as well as which developer they would like to see take on the franchise. Everyone’s got different answer in this week’s interesting Ask PSLS.

This is easy for me. Ever since I watched its debut episode, I felt that Supernatural would be perfect as a video game. I mean, two brothers hunting urban legends/monsters? Who wouldn’t want that, right?

Heck, even without the license, it could work. At least this way it doesn’t have to follow the series’ convoluted main story. With horror games seeing a resurgence, I hope a competent developer takes a stab at the license. I mean, it’s already on its 10th season, so we know there are fans.

As for me, I wouldn’t mind seeing the Winchesters battle beasts and ghouls in video game form. But even without the license, I’d happily play a game with the same premise.

I like dramas with a bit of action, intrigue, mystery, and a great deep story so I would love to see something like a Fringe video game from a developer like Quantic Dream, or perhaps Naughty Dog? The series has near endless possibilities for a game to explore, so I wouldn’t worry about it ruining the current canon, and would be extremely happy with being able to venture into additional stories from the characters and situations in the Fringe universe, or universes as the case may be.

The Avatar series would make a great complete large-scope game (so far, none are as vast as I would like). I’d like a more large-scale AAA title. I just think the universe is vast enough and intriguing enough to flesh out into a game that could turn into many different good things.

Well, since Battlefield Godzilla is already being done, I am going to have to go with a game based on what it would be like to be alone in the world. So, this could be based off of the I Am Legend book (not the movie) or Vertigo comic’s Y:The Last Man. Either way I’d like to see it be something with more heart and the realities of the situation than anything else, so my first choice would be Naughty Dog, but for fears of it being overly similar to The Last of Us, maybe Ubisoft Montreal could take it on. They do a great job building worlds, and I think the importance would be on the atmosphere and tone than anything else. If not that, maybe we can at least get a game based on Office Space, done by Bungie since they have mastered the endless daily grind that is also found in office work.

Call me twisted, but I would love a Dexter video game. Tracking down, vetting, and then eliminating other serial killers would be a ton of fun.

Zarmena Khan (@Zarmena)

Any of the Taken movies could be turned into a great action, suspense-filled game. I’d want the developer to take the story from the first movie, but use the setting from the second one. I haven’t played any games set in Turkey (except for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations), and I really think the geographical and historical significance of that country would make it an excellent setting for any open-world game. I would prefer Turkey over Japan, China, America, etc. any day.

While I want the game to be open-world action-adventure, some notes from the Max Payne franchise would help. As far as the developer goes, I’d want it to be Rockstar. I don’t think I can trust any other developer to come close to nailing what I’m imagining in my head right now.

What franchises do you want to see made into a video game and what developer do you want to see take it on? Remember to send us questions for Ask PSLS on TwitterFacebookthe forums, and email. Be sure to check back next Wednesday to see what question the PSLS staff will be answering!
