Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Pre-Load Available Now on PS4, Tomorrow on PS3

With the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Day Zero launch happening on Monday, Sony has confirmed that the game on PlayStation 4 is now available for pre-load in the United States, Canada, and Latin America for everyone who pre-ordered through the PlayStation Store.

For PlayStation 3 owners, the pre-load will begin at 10:30am PT/1:30pm ET on Saturday, November 1.

If you decide to buy Advanced Warfare, don’t forget that it “also supports cross-buy so you’ll get both the PS3 and PS4 version of the game.”

The full Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare game will be available to play when Day Zero begins at 12:00am ET on November 3. You’ll also get to enjoy some double XP on that day as well.

If you’re unclear on how pre-loading works, here’s some information:

  • Take no action; Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will begin automatically downloading, provided that “auto-download” has been enabled on your PS4 or PS3. Over the next few days, your system will check for updates and the game will begin downloading by Sunday, in time for the release on Monday.
  • If you can’t wait until then, you can enable the download manually. In PlayStation Store, navigate to the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare game page and click the “download” button. If you haven’t yet preordered, you can preorder and then begin downloading.

According to the PlayStation Store, the PS4 version of Advanced Warfare is roughly 40GB in size, with about 7GB of the download needed before you can begin playing the game.
