2K offered up some tips about the Evolve Alpha on PS4:

Following issues that delayed PlayStation 4 users from participating in Evolve‘s Big Alpha test during the weekend, the alpha has been extended until Tuesday and is currently live for PS4 users.
According to a recent Tweet on the game’s Twitter page, the alpha test will be extended until 12 p.m. on Tuesday for all platforms, including PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

2K also released a statement noting that the game is currently live for PS4 users, and that “after exploring all available solutions, we believe we have addressed the majority of known issues affecting the Evolve Big Alpha on PlayStation 4 following the PS4 2.0 firmware update.” They did note that some PS4 players may experience matchmaking issues, but they are looking into the issue.
