According to a new study published by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the video game industry is growing around four times faster than the United States economy.
As if that wasn’t enough, the study has also revealed that between 2009-2012, the video game industry’s annual job growth rate was about 9 percent. While that doesn’t sound like much, that is actually around 13 times higher than the United States’ annual job growth rate at that time, which leveled out at .72 percent.
While it probably does not come as much of a shock, considering the U.S. economy has not been in the best of shape for a while, it is nice to to that the video game industry is growing. What do you think of this data? Does it surprise you at all?
