Hit Maker, the developer behind the critically panned PlayStation 3 game, Last Rebellion, has reportedly filed for bankruptcy. According to a translation of Japanese site Gamestalk, the procedure for bankruptcy filing was initiated at the Tokyo District Court on October 29.
Founded in April 1998, Hit Maker developed several titles for PlayStation platforms, but it was most known for its PlayStation-exclusive, Last Rebellion, which failed to woo critics over, prompting NIS America to state that the game was “not the kind of title we should release in the United States because of its quality” and that the company was “really sorry for our customers because we released that title.”
We’ll keep our readers updated should any further developments take place.
