After going a few months without seeing any updates, the PlayStation 3 received firmware update 4.66 last night, which is mandatory to download before you can access online features.
As you’ve probably guessed by now, this is simply a stability update, with the singular patch note saying:
System software stability during use of some features has been improved.
If you’re unable to download the latest system update through the internet, you’ll need a USB drive and 200MB of free space on your PlayStation 3. Then, head over to the US or UK PlayStation sites to grab the update.
