Digital Foundry has just released yet another comparison video, and this one looks at the frame rates of Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 4 versus the Xbox One.
The video perfectly syncs up footage of various sections in the game, from driving, to shooting, to flying an airplane, displaying the frame rate at the top as it does so. Surprisingly, there is no clear winner in terms of frame rate, as both consoles experience lag in different areas of the game.
When players drive in highly packed areas, for example, the Xbox One version actually performed better than its PS4 counterpart, which dropped to around 24-26fps. At the same time, the PS4 version featured almost no lag during explosions and heavy gunfire, while the Xbox One fell to around 24fps.
What do you think of the GTA V frame rate comparison video? Did you notice anything that surprised you at all? Let us know in the comments.
