November is the month of holiday releases, and leading up to that gift giving and gift getting season, you may need some guidance about which recent games you and your loved ones need to be playing. Worry not! Here is your list of must play games for November.
LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
The LEGO games always offer fun gameplay, tons to do, and silly humor. LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham excels in its ability to follow the formula but still feel fresh. A great family title for co-op alongside those that may not be hardcore gamers themselves, you won't want to miss this fully voice acted LEGO adventure. Read our full LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham review here.
Assassin's Creed Unity
Despite the variety of issues that befell many players, the PSLS staff still decided that Assassin's Creed Unity was worth playing. Some of us didn't experience the bugs being talked about, and others were able to overlook them to see the great game that Ubisoft crafted beneath the unforeseen issues that many ran across. No matter your opinion or experience with the game, Unity's release will certainly be a memorable one, for better or for worse. It's still one that we think you ought to check out. Tales of Hearts R
While it may fall a little stale in the story and graphics departments, Tales of Hearts R has an excellent combat system and cast of characters, not to mention the fact that it is compatible with the PlayStation TV for a full screen experience. All these factors mean that Tales of Hearts R is one Vita RPG that you won't want to miss. Read our full Tales of Hearts R review here.
Tales from the Borderlands Ep. 1: Zer0 Sum
Another games that starts with tales, but in an entirely different vein, Tales from the Borderlands Ep 1: Zer0 Sum is the Telltale Games view on the world of Borderlands . While some things could use a little improvement, the inaugural episode was an excellent start to what is shaping up to be Telltale's best work yet. Read our full Tales from the Borderlands Ep. 1: Zer0 Sum review here.
Dragon Age Inquisition
Lauded by our reviewer as the best RPG he's played, Dragon Age Inquisition features a huge story, world, and cast of characters. In fact, there isn't really any part of this game that isn't massive in scope. For a few of the PSLS staff, this game is their must play game of the month in November. Read our full Dragon Age Inquisition review here.
Grand Theft Auto V PS4
One of the highest rated games from last generation gets an HD re-release with a new first person mode for the current generation? If you didn't play Grand Theft Auto V last year , shame on you. And go pick it up for the PS4 right now. Read our full Grand Theft Auto V PS4 review here.
Far Cry 4
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Far Cry 3 was such an excellent game that very little needed to be fixed or improved in the follow up. Far Cry 4 retains many of the great qualities of its predecessor, adding only marginal improvements to make an already great formula really shine. If you love open world first person games, you owe it to yourself to take on baddie Pagan Min in the mountainous region of Kyrat with Far Cry 4 . Read our full Far Cry 4 review here.
The November 2014 Game of the Month is...
All of these holiday releases are already taking up so much of your time, but there's one more that we feel really shined bright this month. That game is...
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
There's a stigma around Call of Duty that won't let it be seen as more than the poster child for mediocre yearly releases. With Advanced Warfare , Call of Duty took a significant step forward in changing it's typical formula and being different while still remaining a Call of Duty game. If you've skipped over years worth of CoD titles, you may want to take a second look and pick up Advanced Warfare for a look at what a great Call of Duty game actually is. For evolving a staple franchise out of a rut that it has been stuck in, our Game of the Month award goes to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare . Read our full Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare review here.
