2014 is coming to a close, and with 2015 fast approaching, we wanted to know what everyone was looking forward to for next year. Here’s what everyone wants to play most in 2015.
Alex Co (@Excaliburps)
This is a tough one for me. I’m looking forward to The Order: 1886, Bloodborne, Until Dawn, The Witcher 3, Battlefield Hardline (to some extent), Star Wars Battlefront, and I’m sure I’m missing a few games.
It’s definitely an awesome year and if all these games turn out to be good, I daresay, it might be one of the best years in a long while.

Right now it is a toss-up between Yakuza 5 and Persona 5, though I am leaning slightly towards P5 because of the PS4 release. Both games are a part of two of the best series in recent memory and feature amazing stories and characters.

By far, No Man’s Sky has my attention more than any other game. The thought of exploring an near infinite universe, discovering its secrets along the way is incredible. It’s like Hello Games reached into my mind and created a game based on the wildest dreams that I didn’t know I had. I am eager to see how the final title changes the face of gaming.

No Man’s Sky, because it feels like a totally new breed of game. There is nothing else like it, and my mind is open to anything it turns out to be. But from all the things I’ve read about it, it seems like it will be so phenomenal, and fits well with my personal interests in gaming, art, and entertainment.

I know there are a ton of games to look forward to in 2015, so I try not to look too far into the calendar in terms of anticipation. But, I am really looking forward to Dying Light, Battlefield Hardline, No Man’s Sky, The Witness and Galak-Z off the top of my head. Honestly, the games industry has been getting better and better every year, so there is sure to be some games that haven’t even been announced that will top this list, but I guess we will have to wait to find out what those are.

The PSP2. I heard rumors years ago that a successor to the PSP was underway, but for all the info and media I can find from Sony, they’ve never released a second handheld system. I think a second Sony handheld could be an amazing success if the company really gets behind it. I just hope they didn’t cancel the project entirely, because they’ve gone completely silent on it.

I’m really just hoping for some big PlayStation Vita announcements. I’m dangerously close to selling my Vita (mainly because most games I want are available on PS4 and PS3), so if there’s nothing to look forward to in 2015, then I have no reason to hold onto it.

Battlefield Hardline and The Witcher 3 are the games I’m most looking forward to playing. I’m a big infantry Battlefield player, so Hardline looks to be right up my alley. The Witcher 3 promises to offer a huge adventure and, after seeing plenty of gameplay demos, I’m more than ready to jump on in. Both of these games have experienced delays, so hopefully that means extra polish and smooth releases.

I am most looking forward to Dying Light and Gang Beasts. The former looks like one of the best zombie games I have ever seen, and the latter just looks hilariously fun.

No Man’s Sky. I have not been this excited for a new game, let alone a new IP, since the original LittleBigPlanet. Some people may fear that the game is being too hyped, but I believe the Hello Games team is a humble group, who will release the game when it reflects their initial vision of what they set out to accomplish. Others will complain that there’s not enough to do. I am withholding judgement until the game is actually out. Oh and Sony, a PS Plus-exclusive early beta test would be great, thanks! Help us to help you!

I wouldn’t say I’m highly anticipating any game (yet), but there are at least two titles I’m closely following and looking forward to playing. From among new games, I’ve got my eye on The Order 1886. After Chandler’s PlayStation Experience hands-on preview, I’m even more interested. And from among established franchises, I’m really looking forward to Mortal Kombat X. I’ve loved the series since I first played it, and it never fails to entertain me.
