Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Sales Behind Ghosts in US, Still Best Selling Game of 2014

According to Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson, NPD Group’s November Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sales in the US were down a whopping 27 percent compared to last year’s Ghosts.

This is disappointing data following first week Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sales showing a year-over-year increase. NPD data does not include digital copies or international sales, which, if included, would lessen the year-over-year decline, but we believe this data suggests potential for Q4 revenue upside is now very low.

The report makes this the third year in a row that CoD sales have decreased in the US. Despite the declines, however, Advanced Warfare is still the number one selling video game in the US this year, with Destiny following right behind it.

What do you think of all the sales declines? What do you think that will mean for next year’s CoD game?
