Square Enix has revealed new details for the previously announced Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Heavensward expansion at its Fan Festival in Tokyo. Players can expect a new race, jobs, and raid. The Au Ra race (pictured above) hails from the continent of Othard, and hasn’t appeared in any Final Fantasy game before. Players will be able to customize their horns, tails, and patches of scales on their skins.
The first new job revealed is Astrologian, which is a healer class that uses the power of stars for healing and magicks.
The second new job is Machinist, which is a ranged DPS class that can deal damage with a large firearm and mechanical turrets.
The endgame raid will take place in an abandoned fortress called Alexander, and players will be able to select between Normal and Hard mode.
Square Enix also announced that Heavensward expansion will feature a theme by the Final Fantasy series composer Nobuo Uematsu. The expansion is scheduled for release in Spring 2015.
