Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Takes Place Three Years After Uncharted 3

With the announcement that the February 2014 cover of Game Informer will feature Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, a few details have been revealed about the game, including the fact that it takes place three years after Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

In a Thief’s End, Nathan Drake is searching for a mythical pirate utopia in Madagascar, and he’s joined by his long lost brother, Sam, who is played by Troy Baker. Within the February 2014 issue, we’ll learn about what Nathan’s been doing in those three years and why he’s back to his treasure-hunting ways.

As part of the video you can see above, Game Directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, as well as Nolan North, Troy Baker, and other members of Naughty Dog discuss Uncharted 4, with some key quotes below:

Druckmann: “Trying to take everything Nathan Drake has done – and who he is – and trying to find closure for that story, that’s really challenging.”

Straley: “We’re not going make it too dark. Everybody calm down, just take a breath. We’re retaining all the light-heartedness – it’s Nathan Drake!”

Druckmann: “This is the Uncharted we feel like we want to make and the culmination of everything we’ve learned on Uncharted and The Last of Us.”

Based on Druckmann’s comment, do you think this truly will be the final Uncharted game starring Nathan Drake?
