Zombie Studios Closes Down, Developer Builder Box Acquires Rights to Blacklight: Retribution

After more than 20 years in business, Seattle-based developer Zombie Studios (Blacklight: Retribution, Saw, Daylight, Spec Ops) is shutting down for good, with the studio’s owners deciding to retire.

You don’t have to worry about Blacklight: Retribution going anywhere though, as developer Builder Box “has acquired some of the work Zombie is parting with, including all the rights to Blacklight: Retribution.”

Builder Box themselves explained who exactly they are:

In a nutshell we are the former Director of Production and the former Technical Director of Zombie Studios, along with the awesome staff that created, developed, and continually work on Blacklight: Retribution.

What does this mean for you the fan? While ownership of the game has changed, the people behind the scenes who have been constantly contributing to the Blacklight universe for the last four years remains intact. As a fan you can look forward to more updates and exciting changes in the coming year.
