UK Sales Chart: Grand Theft Auto V Overtakes Advanced Warfare for First Place

With no new releases to speak of, Grand Theft Auto V was able to steal first place away from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, despite a 51% drop in sales. Including this victory, GTAV has actually only been #1 five times since launch, but it is the fastest-selling game of all-time in the UK and the best-selling game of all-time in the UK.

It was a fairly straightforward week for the rest of the top 20, with Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag’s move from 27th to 11th – thanks to the Assassin’s Creed Xbox One bundle getting a sales spike – being the only notable change.

Here’s the top 20 selling retail games in the UK for the week ending January 10, 2015, according to GfK Chart-track:

  1. Grand Theft Auto V (down 51%)
  2. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (down 61%)
  3. FIFA 15 (down 51%)
  4. Far Cry 4
  5. The Crew
  6. Assassin’s Creed Unity
  7. Minecraft: PlayStation Edition
  8. Minecraft: Xbox Edition

  12. DriveClub
  13. LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

  16. Halo: The Master Chief Collection
  17. WWE 2K15
  18. Super Smash Bros
