Japanese Sales Chart: January 5 – 11, 2015 – Sales Down All Around

It wasn’t a very exciting week in Japan, with software and hardware sales all dropping considerably, and no new releases to speak of in the top 20.

Facing no competition, Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi easily captured first place again by selling 75,000, defeating 2nd place finisher Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, which moved 38,000. If both titles continue this sales pace, they’ll reach 2.5 million sold in just a few weeks.

Looking at hardware, the 3DS topped the charts once again, while the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 all dropped by more than 50% compared to the previous week.

Here’s how each system sold, along with the top 20 selling retail games in Japan between January 5, 2014 and January 11, 2015, according to Media Create:
