Grand Theft Auto V Composer Edgar Froese Dies

Edgar Froese, composer of Grand Theft Auto V’s original score, has died at 70. The pioneering electronic musician and founder of Tangerine Dream passed away last Tuesday, but news of his passing only spread over the weekend when Rockstar Games paid tribute to him on its website. The developer wrote:

A true musical icon, his body of work spanned across six decades. He was a huge inspiration to us and we are honored to have worked so closely with him on the GTAV score.

Froese’s death was sudden, but occurred from a pulmonary embolism. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
