Gearbox is “Ready to Start” Working on the Next Borderlands

At PAX South this weekend, Gearbox President Randy Pitchford talked about the future of the Borderlands franchise, revealing that the developer is ready to start thinking about the next game in the franchise:

We want to think about the future and we want to think about what the next Borderlands is and we’re going to need some help. The fact is, we’re not working on a new Borderlands game, but we want to.

He added, “There’s literally nothing to tell, but we’re ready to start.”

Following this announcement, Pitchford went on Twitter to say, “We are recruiting for next Borderlands. This is the big one.” Judging by him calling it “the big one,” it suggests they’d be making Borderlands 3.

Since Gearbox is already committed to Battleborn, they’re looking to hire “great artists, designers, coders, producers, and other developers to help with next Borderlands!”

If you can’t wait for the next Borderlands, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection comes to PlayStation 4 in March.
