Witcher 3 Devs Consider an “Insanity Mode,” Would Delete Saves After Character Death

You know the Harcore mode in Diablo 3 that will delete your character if you happen to die? Well, it looks like CD Projekt is looking to add a similar thing into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Called “Insanity Mode,” it was revealed by Senior Game Designer Damien Monnier and Level Designer Miles Tost during a recent Twitch Q&A. While they were not 100 percent certain the mode would actually be released when the game comes out in a few months, they mentioned that they wanted the mode to be incredibly punishing, but still maintain a certain level of fun.

One of the ways it might do this would be to delete a player’s save files if the player’s character dies, adding a certain level of realism into the RPG. While the devs were a little quiet on the other aspects of “Insanity Mode,” hopefully more information will be released on it soon.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to come out on May 19 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. What do you think of the “Insanity Mode?” Would you want to see it in the final game?
