Sony Network Entertainment VP Eric Lempel answered a couple questions about PlayStation Music, saying, “Yes. Both versions of Spotify, free and premium, will be available when we launch Spotify on PlayStation Music.”
He later replied, “You certainly can” when someone asked if free Spotify users can listen to the music while playing games on PS4.

Launching this Spring in 41 markets around the world is PlayStation Music, with Sony announcing Spotify as their exclusive partner.
Initially coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xperia smartphones and tablets, PlayStation Music allows you link your existing PlayStation Network ID with Spotify, then subscribe to their Premium Service. Featuring more than 30 million songs and 1.5 billion playlists, PS4 owners can use Spotify and listen to songs in the background while playing games, “enabling them to soundtrack their gaming sessions with their favorite songs.”
A list of counties currently confirmed for PlayStation Music includes Andorra, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, UK and USA.

More details about the exclusive features through Spotify on PlayStation Music are expected in the coming weeks and months.
With PlayStation Music coming this Spring, it spells the end of Music Unlimited, which will cease service in all 19 countries on March 29, 2015. From February 28, 2015 – March 29, 2015, all users with active subscriptions will receive free access to Music Unlimited and will be offered an introductory Spotify Premium trial.
In the press release, Sony also revealed there are 64 million active PlayStation Network users, including Sony Entertainment Network accounts.
